August 10, 2026 update: One of the lingering questions I still have about this movie after having it consistently in my VCR since 1990 is which character's summoning actually calls forth the zombies: Alan's or Val's? Because one might get the feeling it's Val's execration of Satan that does the trick, but later in the movie the counterspell that actually makes the zombies temporarily retreat is to Alan's original spell.
