August 7th Is Nick Bockwinkel Day

August 7th is henceforth and forever Nick Bockwinkel Day. 

Nick Bockwinkel (1934–2015) was one of professional wrestling’s most polished and intelligent villains. Best known for his years in the American Wrestling Association, he was a four-time AWA World Heavyweight Champion and three-time tag-team champion with Ray Stevens. With manager Bobby Heenan at his side, Bockwinkel became famous for his technical skill, expensive suits, calm arrogance, and unusually articulate interviews. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007. Bockwinkel also appeared in Rockford during the AWA’s regular wrestling cards, including a championship main event at Boylan High School.
