Best Kickstarter Video Ever

Sometimes you have to bear the sermon to get to the buffet afterwards. When I started a Kickstarter campaign to help raise money to publish the poetry book Iced Cream by Jesus Abraham Correa VII, I knew almost everyone on the planet was far beyond fatigued with seeing incessant pleas from everyone in their social media circle to help fund some pet project. After all, we're all running a small business these days in America. 

So, I wanted to do my best to overcome that initial resistance to even clicking on a crowd funding link by doing two things: offering the best rewards we could think of, and creating the best Kickstarter video of all time. If people came to out Kickstarter, even if they didn't give, I wanted them to go away feeling like they received something that made their day better.

With that in mind I hired the best video production specialist I know, Tim Stotz. His only instructions were to make a fun video. He did more than that. He made the funniest Kickstarter video ever. His job was made easier by working with one of the funniest comedians in the region, Jesus Correa. A lot of times in the publishing and entertainment industry you learn to temper your expectations and brace yourself for disappointment. But sometimes awesome happens. It did in this video.

I have worked with both of these guys in the comedy troupe The Leaders of Something Horrible, and I have done stand-up comedy with Jesus, so to me it's no surprise this turned out so funny. I hope you'll go look at it, because even if you're not a fan of poetry, even if you're not going to back this project, I'm still proud of this work.
