Poem Written On Hitler's Typewriter

"Of course it's in Bessemer, Alabama,"
I tell Jenny as she muscles the rental car
Off 59 and into the city.
Finding the typewriter attended only
By one good ole boy who explained
Hitler wrote all his best propaganda on this
Very typewriter, then retired to a small
Room in back to allow us to do an
Unguided tour, I realized we could
Easily have snatched Hitler's typewriter and run,
But who wants that kind of karma,
So I quickly inserted a piece of paper
In the carriage, lined it up, 
And wrote this poem,
Which is as true as any other story
In Alabama.
