John Paragon as The Breather on Elvira's Movie Macabre

Actor John Paragon portrayed a character called The Breather in several early episodes of Elvira's Movie Macabre. He'd call up and say something like "Hello, Elvirus? Do you have anything on tonight?" And she'd say "Ya. And I'm keeping it on." Then he'd exclaim "That's a bummer." Those were the jokes, people. 

Paragon was a member of the LA improvisational group The Groundlings in the 1970's with other members Phil Hartman, Pee Wee Herman, and guess who... Cassandra Peterson. He worked several times with Pee Wee Herman, most memorably as Jambi the Genie and Pterri the Pterodactyl in Pee Wee's Playhouse, and reprised the role of Jambi the Genie in the Broadway show of Pee Wee's Playhouse.  Pin It
