World Rhino Day is September 22nd. Depending on whose numbers you believe, there are less than 20,000 rhinos of all species left on planet Earth, and poaching is on a precipitous rise.
Hangovers and boners? One of the most majestic species on planet Earth hunted to the brink of extinction so some dufus in Asia who drank too much won't have a hangover? That's sick. Poaching must be taken seriously both on the side where the animal is hunted and on the side where the product is purchased. Both have to be considered serious crimes and the criminals prosecuted.
Last Christmas I wrote a book for a boy I know named Jack who reminded me of a rhinoceros when he was very young because he was energetic, sort of plump and stout, and reminded me in spirit of a charging rhino. We published the book this Spring and it turned out magnificently. Since then I've taken the plight of all species of rhinos very seriously and hope that World Rhino Day September 22nd will raise awareness about this irreplaceable species.
