Iced Cream Nominated For Pushcart Prize

Three poems from Rockford poet Jesus Correa's first book, Iced Cream, "for the drowning to come," "good night," and "so I don't forget," have been nominated for the prestigious Pushcart Award, which recognizes excellence in Small Press Literature.

Iced Cream, published by Zombie Logic Press of Rockford, is Correa's first book, and was released in July 2014. Jesus Abraham Correa VII is one of the most colorful and popular artists in a city that has been tabbed by Forbes and other national press outlets as one of America's most violent, least educated cities. He is a poet, visual artist, lead singer for the band King of the Demons, and ran for mayor as a Green Party candidate.

Zombie Logic Press, which is known as America's Most Dangerous Small Press, is located at the heart of Rockford, in the third most dangerous neighborhood in America. Helmed by founder/publisher Thomas L. Vaultonburg, Zombie Logic says it intends to publish several more books by promising local authors in the coming months.

Correa, meanwhile, continues to work as a dishwasher after having published one of the best books of 2014. More information about Iced Cream, Correa, and Zombie Logic Press can be found at Zombie Logic Press.
