The Leaders of Something Horrible

One of my great joys in life is that was in/am in a comedy troupe called The Leaders of Something Horrible. I seem to remember  on a February night we had our first writer's meeting. It was me, Jesus Correa, jason ssg, and Tim Stotz. And the writing started. A couple meetings later we had our infamous (to us, at least) Axe Handle writer's meeting, where we underestimated the power of a certain malt liquor beverage, and ended up walking down the middle of the streets Downtown yelling at the top of our lungs at 2 a.m. Axe Handle is no longer served at LOSH meetings.

We took advantage of the lull in our own private schedules to write quite a few skits in those weeks, and even got a couple on video. I remember the shoot for "I Heart My Paw" because it was sort of cold and windy, and my only line came at the very end. jason ssg, who had the heart of a lion, wasn't in the skit, so he held the camera and sat there for what seemed like three hours in the corner of Tim Stotz' porch, one of the most dangerous places in America, while Stotz and Correa fumbled through the script, which Jesus has handwritten on two sides of lined paper. But Jason never complained once. Never even asked to take a break. Just kept shooting. I'm really happy we managed to get this skit on video. I hope we'll be able to do more of what we originally planned in the future.
