Karen Black and The Zuni Fetish Doll From Trilogy of Terror

Who is the most frightening movie villain of all time? The question is often asked. But to a five year old boy Watching Trilogy of terror on ABC's movie of the week, there can be only one answer: The Zuni Fetish Doll. This little freak caused me nightmares for years. I literally couldn't reach under a couch until I was 27 years old. Anyone who remember watching Trilogy of Terror knows the Zuni fetish Doll appears in the last story, and it ends with actress Karen Black squatting like a savage on the floor, jamming a huge knife into the floor over and over.

Karen Black died today. She appeared in over 100 movies, including Easy Rider, Nashville, and The Great Gatsby. I can never forget the final scene of Five Easy Pieces when she comes out of the diner. In her late career she became known for doing a lot of low budget horror movies, but was in some real classics like Burnt Offerings, Trilogy of Terror, and House of 1000 Corpses (debatable).  Pin It
